Sweet Caramel Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients

• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1 cup light brown sugar
• 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter
• 1/4 cup corn syrup

• Prep Time: 10 minutes
• Cook Time: 45 minutes
• Total Time: 55 minutes

Instructions

• Set aside popcorn from a large pot or popcorn maker.
• Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
• Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt in a mixing bowl.
• Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently.
• Allow to boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
• Take the pan off the heat and stir in the baking soda.
• The solution will foam and expand.
• Pour caramel mixture over popped popcorn and toss to coat evenly.
• Spread popcorn on a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes at 250 degrees Fahrenheit, stirring every 15 minutes.
• Remove from the oven and set aside to cool before serving.
