Caramel and Chocolate Popcorn Recipe

This sweet and salty popcorn snack is ideal for movie nights or get-togethers. The caramel coating adds a delicious chewy texture, while the chocolate drizzle elevates it to new heights.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 250°F.
  • (120 degrees C).
  • Over medium-high heat, pop the popcorn kernels in the vegetable oil, shaking the pan occasionally, until the popping slows.
  • Distribute the popcorn evenly on a large baking sheet.
  • Over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt in a saucepan.
  • Cook, constantly stirring, until the mixture comes to a boil.
  • Allow the mixture to boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Turn off the heat and stir in the baking soda.
  • The solution will foam up.
  • Stir the caramel into the popcorn to coat it.
  • 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, bake the popcorn.
  • Allow the popcorn to cool after it has been removed from the oven.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each interval, until melted.
  • Drizzle over the cooled popcorn the melted chocolate.
  • Allow 10 minutes for the chocolate to set before serving.
