Chocolate Covered Popcorn Recipe
A sweet and crunchy treat ideal for movie nights or parties.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 10 minutes
- Total Time: 20 minutes
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Cover the pot with the popcorn kernels.
- When the kernels begin to pop, shake the pot occasionally until the popping slows.
- Remove the pot from the heat and set aside for a few minutes to cool.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn and mix well with a spatula to ensure that all of the popcorn is covered.
- Place the popcorn on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and set aside to cool until the chocolate has hardened.
- Serve the popcorn broken into pieces.
